Cone Beam CT - 3D Images

RGV Endodontics, LLP is pleased to announce that our office can now make Cone Beam CT - 3D Images (X-Rays) using the CS 81003D by Care Stream. CBCT examinations will provide a wealth of 3D information which may be used when planning for dental implants, endodontic diagnosis and treatment, surgical extractions, maxillofacial surgery, and advanced dental restorative procedures. Benefits of CBCT scans include: A. Higher accuracy when planning implant placement surgery; B. Greater chance for diagnosing conditions such as vertical root fractures that can be missed on conventional radiographs (x-ray films); C. Greater chance of providing images and information which may result in the patient avoiding unnecessary dental treatment; D. Better diagnosis of third molar (wisdom teeth) positioning in proximity to vital structures such as nerves and blood vessels prior to removal; E. The CBCT scan enhances our ability to see what needs to be done before treatment is started; F. Images can be shared via CD/DVD.

To our Patients:

Our office does not provide most of these services, we recommend you see your Dentist for evaluation and if they need such Images our office will be more than glad to assist in doing so. If you are already under the care of a General Dentist or Specialist and they require such images we are more than happy to provide them. Please contact our office if you need to make an appointment or have your Dentist office do so.

To our Referring Dentist:

We are excited to offer this service to our patients. We will be recommending this service during our consultation in addition to traditional periapical radiographs. We will likely recommend CBCT scans to patients needing re treatments, apical surgery, and difficult diagnosis cases. It is now the standard of care to have a CBCT image for all teeth needing apical surgery (Apicoectomy). If during your evaluation you determine we would benefit in taking a CBCT scan , please let our office know when your office calls to make an appointment for your patient.
